Reading Programs

Our Mission in Dallas ISD and at Gabe P. Allen New Tech Academy is to increase reading for pleasure.

Research shows that students who self-select books for reading become better readers.

Promoting reading for pleasure is one way to highlight the library's contribution to student achievement.

We hope our families will participate in all reading programs supported by our school district and school.

We currently encourage students to participate in the following programs:

• Braum's Book Buddy
• Pizza Hut Book It!
• Six Flags Six Hour Reading Challenge

In addition, we promote and encourage our students to participate in programs offered through our West Dallas Public Library branch.
